History - PERSONALITY
It was solely a cold night when Nobelium was born. The house proprietors of Nobelium's parents were asleep. Nobelium was eager and whined as he tried to blindly push himself forward. before he knew it though, nobelium was asleep and tired. It had been early within the morning, most likely seven am when Nobelium felt strokes across his back and soft cooing. A human was holding nobelium within the palm of her hand and gently moving her finger across his back. He was set back down when he nibbled at the tip of her finger.
Nobelium squealed once he knocked his littermate into the grass together with his front paws. He sat up and shook himself off until he felt a heavy weight knock him into the grass. He was knocked down by his same sibling he had simply knocked down. He giggled and squirmed around in the grass. The couple tussled around for a short while before a soft hand picked both nobelium and his sibling up. He wriggled around and looked up at the human's kind face.
Today was the day, Nobelium and his siblings were going to be adopted out! Nobelium was fit into a blue bowtie with small white spots. He was groomed neatly, sort of like he was going to a dog show! He heard of them before, dog's were tested for their abilities and the best wins. Too much stress for him anyways. Nobelium skittered around joyfully, bouncing off the walls (not literally!)
One by one, the rest of his siblings were taken. Nobelium just couldnt get the hang of how to impress anyone! He rolled, jumped, squealed and did whatever he could. But still, none took interest in his energetic personality. A young girl came in and picked him up with both hands, but she just set him back down after speaking in human language to her parent and left. He dug his face into his mother's soft fur and sat down squealing.
An elderly man came in and picked up Nobelium while he was sleeping next to his mom. His hands were rough and hard, so he wriggled around. He held Nobelium in his arms and walked out with him after handing the owner some money. Finally! He picked himself up and looked up at the human's face, pawing at his neck. He looked down at Nobelium then looked back up. Nobelium was hauled off into a pretty decent car, having the back seat all to himself. He sat in the cup holders and stared out the windows, watching everything fly by so quickly.
Finally the car stopped and slowly turned around a corner, before stopping. The human took him out of the truck and took Nobelium inside. Turns out he wasn't alone. There were dogs, cats, a turtle and some birds. The man greeted all the animals.. This isn't so bad, Nobelium thought. He was set down on a stiff wooden stool and the man set down two bowls before walking off. Nobelium jumped off the chair in attempt to explore, but he was surrounded by the dogs sniffing him all over. The human returned with food and filled up his water bowl with a bottle of water.
Nobelium was spoiled with treats, toys and cuddles. The elderly owner cherished his moments with Nobelium, but he gave all his other pets equal love. Their time together dwindled as the man grew older and he felt like everything would be over in a blink of an eye. But no doubt that Nobelium was growing to.. His owner slowly became less active than he was before. The man still did everything to be close to the pets he had. One of the dogs passed away from old age in time, he used to be one of the more jumpier ones. Nobelium grew lazier since he had been taking on less walks. He still would run around and play tag with the other pets every now and then.
Ambulance... Animal control.. cops. His owner had passed. Nobelium was frightened and turned aggressive. It was all a dream... It had to be a dream. He scurried under couches and tables, and bit hands until... He fell to the ground with a thud and everything became a black haze. The noises around him became a blur of barks and human words, until.. he was out.
Nobelium woke up weak in a cage. Everything around him was dark. Was it supposedly night? There was a blanket over his cage and it didnt feel like he was moving... He slowly stood up and stuck a paw out the bars of the cage, catching a nail in the blanket and pulling it down slightly. He pulled his claw off the blanket and turned around, looking out the open end. Where was he? There was a familiar dog in a larger cage across from him and he squeaked, trying to get the dog's attention. It was no use anyways, his squeak was too weak and the dog looked like it was out cold too.
Nobelium awoke from a nap to be held in the hands of a strange human with rubber gloves and a mask on. He was startled and clawed and bit but it was no use. She had quite a nice grip on him. He was set on a large table and was examined by humans. He was put into another black hazy dream as he was laid down on the table and put under anesthesia. He woke up in a cage, in pain, with a blanket over him and a squeaky bird toy sitting next to him. Ugahh... he felt like he could barley move... Did they poison him?
Nobelium was sitting in one of the mini hammocks in his cage, faced away from all the other wandering and curious ferrets. He got a nudge from a pure white ferret wanting to play with him, but he just gave a bothered growl and curled up tighter. He didn't want to be here.. He was forced to be here. Nobelium was really jumpy and unkempt, often startled and hid away from others. He didn't want a human to notice him and feel bad and maybe think he was sick, so he just kept a toy over him to hide. He was often take out a couple of times to be examined but often tried to bite and wriggle free.
There was a rush through the shelter, humans rushing through and taking home pets. The shelter was almost empty! Well from his view... That was only from his side of the cage he saw empty. He could hear the yaps of dogs and the tweets of birds not so far away anyways. A young girl came and poked her finger into Nobeliums cage, startling him, making him bite the girl leaving her running off with a squeal. That'll teach her... He thought, digging his head into the soft hammock.
A single hand, not scared, but not tempted, slowly reached into the cage. The hand stroked nobelium across his back and down his stomach. He liked this person.. He slowly stood up though, startled and slowly looking up at the human. She was an older girl, almost teenage looking with black rimmed glasses and dark, wavy hair. Her expression looked calm and friendly, as if she wanted him. Slowly, she reached both hands in putting them in front of nobelium as if she wanted him to get on the palm of her hands. His fur was raised as he slowly scampered onto the humans hand as if the hammock were lava. She slowly lifted him up and held him up to eye view.
Nobelium gave a toothy grin, sort of aggressive, testing the human to put him down. But she didnt bat an eye. He seemed a little less startled, her reminding him of his previous owner, the kind old man. The lady held him closer, holding him in her arms. The lady who opened the cage for he stood by, sort of surprised by the instant connection. She escorted the girl and Nobelium to a small room, where the two played around for a moment, to see if they favored each other. It was the perfect connection...
Nobelium was carried off in a pet carrier, where the he was driven off, in the front seat of the girls car. She opened the cage at one point, so he could get to know his surroundings in the car. Then it struck him, they were perfect for eachother, this lady had to be the old man in disguise. They arrived at the house and parked in the small parking spot in front of the house. She carried him and the carrier into the house where she set the carrier on a table and him on a couch. The lady said something in human language that sounded something like "stay still" What did that mean? The old man didnt teach him anything like that.
Nobelium took a running start and jumped off the couch, plummeting into a soft rug. He stood up and walked around, looking under couches and on tables. A candle fell on the rug with a crash, but luckily it didnt look broken.. The lady heard the crash and ran in with a bowl of food and water in either hand. "You little rascal" She giggled, setting down the bowls on a table. She picked up the unharmed candle and set it back up on the side-table. "If that was a lit candle you would've set us all on fire!" She remarked, "I'll put that in safe keeping someplace you can't reach it."
Nobelium enjoyed living in the house it was always quiet, perfect for him. The yard was large and he occasionally played in the yard once it was mowed. He met some neighbor dogs who he became friends with and met up with through the wired fence. All his buddies were dogs, turns out there weren't many ferrets like him around the neighborhood, but that was fine. He liked meeting species unlike his, especially dogs! His owner always walked him with his pink and blue splotched harness, she had it custom made for him! It was really comfy too.
Nobeliums favorite food is minced rabbit meat, since its so delicious! He'll eat it however it is, as long as his human allows it. He also really favors the treats that he gets that are supposed to be "healthy" (well to him they aren't since they're so delicious) but he could eat it all day! He also sometimes eats kitten food when the food he normally would eat runs out. Kitten food is pretty good too! He sometimes eats ice cream, but very rarely and in very small amounts to avoid harming him!
